Hot July Days are for Home Grown Family Fun!

The Dog Days of Summer are the hot, sultry days of July and early August. They were historically the period following the heliacal rising of the star system Sirius in the constellation Canis Major (the Big Dog). Sirius is the Alpha star (brightest in the group) in Canis Major and the brightest star in the night sky, with apparent visual magnitude −1.46. It is a binary star, and has a paired star positioned so close that it wasn't until 2005 that scientists realized it was a double. The bright component of the binary is a blue-white star 25.4 times as luminous as the Sun.

You will recognize Sirius whenever you see it in the sky by the sparkles and twinkles in constantly changing colors. When looking for it, follow the three stars of Orion's belt down and to the left. As it rises above the horizon on July 3rd, prior to that it is beneath the horizon line for a while and cannot be seen. When Sirius rises, there is greater heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck. This year, the Dog Days of Summer will span Saturday, Jul 3, 2021 – Wednesday, Aug 11, 2021. Remember that folks get testy when they are too hot!

One of the most important events in the daily life of ancient Egypt, before the construction of the Aswan High Dam in the 1960s, was the annual flooding of the Nile. During this period, the nourishing river would overflow its banks, sweep into arable lands and deposit fertile silt ideal for farming. To predict when the flood would occur, Egyptian priests relied on the rising of Sirius. The flood season happens just as Leo begins, ergo, there are fountains with lions spouting water!

As June's ocean-going Cancer season continues into July and the Leo season approaches July 23rd, it's time to plan some fun with friends and family. Celebrate Independence Day near water or with watermelon to honor the Cardinal sign of Water: Cancer. Settle in for a snuggly spa day during the dark new Moon in Cancer on Friday, July 9th. Cook a nice meal (or let a lover cook one for you), take a long bath, and catch up on sleep.

There is going to be an Annular Eclipse of the Sun visible in northern and northeastern North America, on July 10th, beginning at 4:12 AM EDT and ending at 9:11 AM EDT. The time of maximum eclipse varies by location. Since this is an annular eclipse, the Moon will never fully eclipse the body of the Sun. It will create an "annulus" or ring of light around the Sun. Use eye protection such as eclipse glasses or a solar filter. Don't look directly at the Sun, people. You know better, right?

Communications Master Mercury enters caring Cancer on Sunday, July 11. This transit adds depth to your conversations. If you're in a new relationship, you may find yourself sharing secrets with your partner. It's a good time to do it, thanks to a comet known as Chiron, or the "wounded healer." This comet goes retrograde in bold Aries on Thursday, July 15, and when it does, you are asked to deal with your hottest hot button and to process old pain. Truly, you will be glad you did…if you can get your way through this. You may want to talk with someone who can guide you through this.

On Monday, July 19, another comet called Vesta enters Libra, the sign of balance and partnership. Everyone needs human connection and this is the perfect time to reconnect with friends and family. If you are not vaccinated, however, you must stay home and do these visits virtually. You don't want to be the one who carries that damned virus to anyone, but especially yourself!

As the season of Cancer ends, Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and money enters responsible Virgo on Wednesday, July 21. Her visit will help you put together budgets, practice winged eyeliner, and discuss safety with partners and friends. Do not jinx the reopening of the world by behaving recklessly. When Leo season begins on Thursday, July 22, the biggest drive is to go out and have fun. Those who have their vaccinations have earned a free pass! Friday, July 23 is the start of the weekend with a full Holly Moon in revolutionary and humanitarian Aquarius. Expect something wonderful to happen!

As we reach the end of July, another major shift arrives. On July 28, 2021, magnificent Jupiter will return to the realm of Aquarius. Earlier in the year, he was here—prior to May 13, 2021. Similar themes will echo now for the next six months as they had during that previous time, so look back and you'll know what to expect more of between now and Christmas. Jupiter takes twelve years to go around the Sun, and wherever he goes, he brings growth and luck. He often acts as a “guardian angel” and brings forth blessings and opportunities.

Now, in Aquarius, he will amplify your inventive, innovative, humanitarian, and intellectual natures. There will be a greater focus on equality, diversity, and experimentation—however, this energy will clash with the old "we've always done it this way" forces of Saturn, so expect a battle between the old and the new. Watch for a sudden boom in science and technology. There should be a more humanitarian approach apparent in global affairs.

In some ways, this period may feel like a dance of two steps forward and one step back. Communities and social movements will see a renewed vigor for both the conservative and liberal elements. Organization will be key for success in any group dynamic during this time. Globally, attention will be especially focused on the “future” and what lies ahead, which will bring astrology, science, and philosophy into the public eye. Progressive views will battle the traditional until ways are found to save the best of the traditional and blend them with the progressive. Last to note is that there will likely be expansion around global connectivity—through the Internet, new apps, and evolution of popular social media channels. Jupiter will turn direct in Aquarius on October 17, 2021 and remain strong there until December 28, 2021.

Our red planet, Mars, ventures into Virgo from July 29, 2021 until September 14. During this time, you are extremely productive. Assess your work-life balance and realign what isn't working. Tackle a large goal and see significant progress during this period. Your physical health should be a bit stronger especially if you rededicate yourself to a healthy diet and fitness regimen. Stay focused. Be precise. Be reliable. Use this energy to transform your life and before you know it, you’ll be stronger than you were before all this transformation happened in the world.

Special July 23rd Practical Magic Presentation!

image

On Friday, July 23rd, before the Full Holly Moon rises over the Atlantic, you are invited to Charmed for a Practical Magic Workshop: Remembering Moon Magic, presented by Trisha Keel, PhD. You know that the Moon affects the tides, but may not have considered that it also affects blood and emotions. All things liquid dance under the influence of Lady Luna - and that includes you.

Everyone has stood beneath the Moon and felt compelled to gaze at her, as if she had some sort of control over you. And not just your body, but your emotions and mind too. Lunacy is, after all, craziness caused by the Moon. Some call it crazy; others call it aware. Those who are aware can work with the powers Selene shares.

Moon Magic flows through the mysterious powers of emotions, feelings, and the subconscious. Dreams and music, poetry and dance, art and divination - all of these tap into the hidden world of lunar wonders. Unlike the Sun, the Moon has secrets which we only whisper in shadows. Laying in bed at night when the Moon goddess is full and bright, you feel her beckoning you out into her silvery radiance. Step out into the mystical moonlight and know her Magic.

Register for this workshop and receive:

  • Information about the Moon goddesses and meanings of their symbolism
  • Ancient Druid Tree/Moon Calendar for working with the lunation seasons
  • Step-by-step procedures for drawing down the Moon rituals and collecting Moon Water
  • Moonlight magic spells to enchant any gathering
  • Meditations for Full Moon celebrations
  • Moon phase explanations in simple terms - always know her cycle
  • Working knowledge of how align with the Moon’s phase in everyday life
  • FREE copy of the Feng Shui & Moon Magic 2021 Planning Calendar - a $25 value!
  • FREE copy of the brand new Integrating Moon Magic Monthly Minder

DETAILS

Feng Shui Fun On The Run PRO Blog Free Sample:

Home Office Balance

Home offices for two need to support both workers with Black Tortoise at their backs. When there is one continuous desk unit, not everyone can sit with their back to the high part, so give them Tortoise support with high backed executive chairs.

The white chair has five wheels and has its ease of movement facilitated by the smooth surface of the oak floor. The gray chair is a wingback accent piece that is meant for a living area, not to be used as a working support. The soft seat will give way to the worker’s body weight, encouraging them to lean back and away from their task. To move the chair in order to pull into the desktop, the worker will have to squat and lift, tucking knees as they approach the horizontal plane.

There is a cross bar beneath that table that is going to abruptly stop their forward progress, likely leaving bruises on shins. This person will have to sit back, away from their task at hand. Note the lamp is not set to illuminate their work surface. The hanging lamps will not serve as task lighting for either worker.

Let us address the painting. Note the mirror to the right of the window aligns with the top of the window’s frame. It would be better to drop this painting down to also align with the top of the window’s frame. Here are some tips for hanging art so it isn’t floating up to the sky:

  1. It should be ‘eye level,’ but not if your ceilings are really low (typical is 8 – 9 feet) and not if you are really tall. If the wall were cut up vertically into four sections (going from bottom to top) then hang the art in the third quadrant (counting up from the floor).
  2. If it’s a collection of art then you need to treat the whole collection as one piece. You will need to start and stop the hanging of the set where it makes the most sense.
  3. For a grouping of frames, engage as much as the wall as possible and orient the collection in the shape of the wall. It doesn’t matter whether you align things to the top edge or bottom edge, as long as you align them.

See a balance of respect for each of the workers in a home office. Give them equal chairs, equal desks, equal lighting, and equal computing capabilities. Have desks of equal size and status. A folding table is not equal to a solid desk with drawers, but can be upgraded with the addition of file drawers and other storage facilities. If a light bulb burns out, replace it immediately with equal wattage so no one has a lighted path and the other is in the dark. Keep flooring the same, and pay attention to the Celestial Animal support for what each person does. Everyone can have support, no matter where they sit.

Want to know who is running the show? Look at their chairs first. Whomever’s chair has the highest back and the most feet wins the power struggle in the room. When the receptionist has a bigger badder chair with more rollers than the owner of the company, there is a clear imbalance of power. Some would expect hanky-panky. Don’t SAY anything. Just note the discrepancy and keep your opinions to yourself.

Moon Magic (Practical Magic Excerpt)

Lore About the Moon’s Phases

  • Moonrises in the evening brings fair weather, says one proverb, harking back to the belief that the waning Moon (full and last quarter, which rise in the evening) is dry.
  • The New Moon and first quarter, or waxing phases, are considered fertile and wet.
  • The new and first-quarter phases, known as the light of the Moon, are considered good for planting above-ground crops, putting down sod, grafting trees, and transplanting.
  • From full Moon through the last quarter, or the dark of the Moon, is the best time for killing weeds, thinning, pruning, mowing, cutting timber, and planting below-ground crops.
  • The time just before the full Moon is considered particularly wet, and is best for planting during drought conditions.

Moon Folklore

  • Rail fences cut during the dry, waning Moon will stand straighter.
  • Wooden shingles and shakes lie flatter if cut on the dark of the Moon.
  • Fence posts should be set in the dark of the Moon to resist rotting. (Fence posts should be set as the tree grew, root end downward.)
  • Don’t begin weaning when the Moon is waning.
  • Castrate and dehorn animals when the Moon is waning for less bleed.
  • Slaughter when the Moon is waxing for juicier meat.
  • Crabbing, shrimping, and clamming are best when the Moon is full.
  • Best days for fishing are between the new and full Moon.
  • Dig your horseradish in the full Moon for the best flavor.
  • Set eggs to hatch on the Moon’s increase, but not in a South wind.
image

Pliny the Elder, the first-century Roman naturalist, stated in his Natural History that the Moon “replenishes the earth; when she approaches it, she fills all bodies, while, when she recedes, she empties them.”

Basically, remember that a waxing moon is growing larger, thus defines the best time to align with making things bigger. The waning moon is used to make things smaller or to promote things which are beneath the surface. So if you want your hair to grow, trim it when the Moon is waxing. If you want your lawn to stay neat longer, mow when the moon is waning.

If the Moon is in its crescent phase, it will look like a greater than (>) or less than (<) symbol. The greater than shape means the Moon is getting bigger or waxing. The less than shape means it is waning or getting smaller. Can you tell which is which in these photos?

Moon Magic for The Flipping Point of the Year

Litha, or as you probably know it, Midsummer has come and passed. The days are already shorter now. The Oak King, who is in charge when the days are growing longer, has handed over his crown to the Holly King, who rules until Christmas as the days begin to grow longer again.

Have you done what you intended to get done this year yet? If not, are you halfway there? It is time to consider where you are on the timeline of 2021. Daylight is burning. Look how fast we got here to the halfway point of 2021. 2022 is just the other half of the year away.

image

The Holly Moon is known as the Moon of Encirclement, Circles, or Cycles. With this lunar cycle comes the reversal of Summer energies as the days grow inexorably shorter toward Winter. Now is the time to set the stage to reverse any situation in your life by changing your thoughts and your environment. Any thought you have can be flipped to its opposite by your intention. Choose the thought that brings joy, inspiration, and empowerment. Transform any thought that brings frustration, anger, or helplessness by the use of your powers of creative visualization.

Polarity can also be seen as the rebalancing of a situation that has gone too far in one direction or another. This shifting of energies can be done by changing your environment and then enhancing it with the use of scents, herbs, and colors. But all of the change starts with changing your mind and your attitude.

Holly brings enduring life and foresight to your life. The plant has very sharp and pointy leaves until it grows to a height of about seven feet. Above that, the plant has no need for protection as no animals that eat it grow that tall in America, so its leaves are then smooth at the edges. In addition, the holly’s berries sustain birds when other foods are scarce. A sprig of holly or a holly leaf makes a talisman with a magnetic effect. If you want to reverse sharp words that have passed between you and a loved one, place a photo of you and the other person in a little box or basket with eight holly leaves. Burn a yellow candle in a bronze candleholder nearby. Gently send thoughts of apology to the other person for your part in the misunderstanding. Ask for tolerance and a chance to set things right.

The scents of rebalancing will effectively encourage you to try to see some of your problems from different points of view.

  • Cilantro – also known as coriander, this herb is an aromatic stimulant that has aphrodisiacal properties. It also combats fatigue and apathy. The seeds have a mildly narcotic effect and will act as a sedative, easing headaches, tension, and nervous exhaustion.
  • Tuberose – a tiny drop will counteract irritability and emotional conflict. It arouses sensuality, motivates, inspires spontaneity, and can transform the introvert into an outgoing personality. Both the wearer of the oil and those who smell it feel these effects.
  • Benzoin – also known as gum Benjamin, this is one of the classic ingredients of incense and its scent honors all deities. Benzoin has a very relaxing effect so don’t use it when you need to concentrate. Its therapeutic properties include antiseptic, anti-depressant, and sedative.

Combine these three scents in a spray bottle of distilled water to use to rebalance the energies of any environment where previous encounters have happened or new encounters will occur. Send a mental message of peace and forgiveness as you spritz the space. (You can also wear a combination of the oils, but don’t use so much scent that they can’t stand to be around you. Think subtle.) Apologies and encounters will then be able to take place gently.

Add the colors of yellow and bronze to your environment with candles, fabrics, stones, art, and/or glass. Untie knots in cords of any kind. Make sure all your clocks are running and have the right time.

Finally, if your need for counteractive magic stems from your desire to turn something around so you can move in a completely opposite direction, it’s time to set a new course and turn the other way. This can be just as true in your business, career or working life as in a relationship, health, or even your education. Once you know what you don’t want, you also know what you do want. Think that through until you can write down clearly on one yellow page exactly what you want to reverse your life to include.

Begin by cleansing your environment. Get yourself a compass with the cardinal directions marked or a compass app. Then under a waning moon dress in new clothes and shoes (underwear too!). Set up a table in the center of your freshly cleaned home with a yellow candle and/or sunshine colored flowers.

  • *Spray the space with your water spritzer or anoint the candle with cilantro, tuberose, and benzoin.
  • Light the candle and visualize your new life as you gaze quietly into its flame for a few minutes.
  • Stand facing due North. Speak aloud and state with conviction what it is that you wish to reverse.
  • Turn to face due South. Now read aloud what is written on your yellow page. Let your voice command the space by speaking with clear strong tones. See yourself following your new path. Feel how happy you now are.
  • Turn to the East and state that your new path begins now with simplicity and joy.
  • Then turn to the West and state your gratitude and appreciation for your new direction.
  • Finally place the compass on your table where you can repeat the process (from the * above) every day for the next nine days. (Twenty seven is even more powerful – 3x3x3.)

There are places you go that quite simply take your breath away. They may be man-made or natural, but they leave you speechless with wonder. Stone dances, cathedrals, and beautiful buildings can stop us in our tracks. So can places like Sedona, the Grand Canyon, or a place where there is a waterfall and a pool of clean, clear water. These places have a frequency that is high and fine. We feel awed, blessed, and even uplifted. And the feeling lasts after we leave.

What if you could create such a place…a living temple where the divine mingles with the earthly? Imagine spending extended amounts of time in those stratospheric frequencies. Imagine connecting your body, heart, mind, and spirit to the Divine. How will that change your life in the long run? What will you learn? How will you grow? What inspiration will you connect with?

If you are building a spa, sanctuary, or church, you need this information to integrate the frequencies you intend to imbue into the space. If you are a professional architect or interior designer, this training has been approved for 9 HSW Learning Units, though you must self report.

You can create a Living Temple in your spare room, your back yard, or on your desk. We will discuss all the details and walk through one of the students building their temple live in class.

We will meet on three consecutive Saturdays: July 31st, August 7, and August 14, from 1-4PM Central via Zoom. We will cover quite a span of topics, including:

I. Sacred Living Geometry

II. Sacred Geomancy

III. Spots of the Fawn

IV. Seven Principles of Sacred Design

V. Connecting to Sacred Space

VI. Resonance Opens the Flow

VII. Building a Sacred Temple

VIII. Opening the Sacred Temple

IX. Closing the Temple

X. Reopening an Ancient Temple

XI. Dismantling a Temple

XII. Recognizing Other Temples

This training addresses mathematics, harmonics, music, geometry, the planets, sacred deities, numerology, ley lines, astronomical alignments, vision questing, timing, and much more. The Sacred Geometry & Geomancy workshop is a unique training opportunity that reveals the greatest mysteries of our world to enable you to literally connect to the Divine. Many have died for revealing this information. I am here to share the wisdom so that you can bring forth new sacred spaces and places for the brighter new world we are all creating.

Tuition is listed on the webpage at the link below. You are invited to attend any of the workshops you see in this magazine and save $500 on your tuition for Sacred Geometry! For more information or to register: https://www.tomorrowskey.com/SacredGeometry.html
